The earliest was written in January 1939, when Yates was thirteen and telling a friend about the band they were forming. The last go to his youngest daughter, Gina, and in between are the separation, the alimony cheques, the drinking and the Hollywood work that never came off.

Marianne Anthonissen and David Gianotten took joint charge in July, alongside two other new partners. Gianotten arrived in 2009 when the office had 59 staff; it now works out of Rotterdam, New York, Asia, the Middle East and Australia, and the plan is to hold the partnership at ten.
Lynne Breitfeller started the work in 2018, when her father began cancer treatment and her mother went into heart failure the following year. Both entered memory care in 2023; her mother has since died, and her father remains in assisted living.

Hirosaki Castle's keep was rolled 256 feet aside in 2015 so the stone walls beneath it could be rebuilt. Volunteers have now hauled it 7.5 feet back over two days, and the work will not be finished until 2033.
