David Fair, Who Spent Fifty Years Proving Music Needed No Rules, Has Died at 74

He and his brother Jad started Half Japanese in Maryland in 1974 and put out more than twenty albums of deliberately untutored art rock. Jad confirmed to Rolling Stone that he died on August 29 after an illness.
