Composer MV Carbon interviews Ka Baird and Chris Ryan Williams, whose collaboration began when an organiser of Helsinki's We Jazz Festival suggested it, and who recall playing shows in a hotel suite with its bathroom as their green room. In a Q&A the three discuss the uncertain line between acoustic and electronic sound, Williams's trumpet run through processes and effects against Baird's processed voice and flute, and the breathy punctuation that runs through their new LP, Enthalpy. They also talk about sound felt physically, and Williams describes how visiting caves shaped his solo performances.
